What is a ton bag?
One ton bags can also be referred to as FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) bags or bulk bags. In the case of purchasing stone bulk materials, one ton refers to the capacity of the bag (i.e. 1 ton = 2,000 lbs) NOT the weight of the materials in the bag. Cherokee Stone Center sells bulk landscape supplies by the scoop. The scooped materials are funneled into the one ton bag which has lifting straps. As you can see from our video, a fork lift uses the lifting straps to load the bulk material onto the back of the delivery truck. These bags are a popular choice for shipping and storing materials because they are durable and flexible. Plus they can be reused many times.
Cherokee Stone Center charges a $20 deposit for each one ton bag. As long as the bag is reusable, we will refund your purchase or better yet we can reuse your bag for another delivery to your job site.

PLEASE NOTE: These stunning photos are a testament to Mario DaSilva’s extraordinary skills as a master stone artisan. Cherokee Stone Center requires Mario’s full attention so he does NOT run his crews for hardscape projects anymore. Our team is here to encourage and advise the next generation of aspiring homeowners, hardscapers and landscapers to create their own unique dreamscapes with our quality hardscape materials.
What is Egg Rock?
One of the most popular bulk landscape materials is Egg Rock. It is often used in planting beds as a replacement for mulch. Egg rock enhances planting beds while being more maintenance free than mulch.
Egg rock is, also, used as a beautiful edging around pools, pathways, ponds and fountains.
Customers often confuse egg rock with river rock. We tell our customers the distinct difference is egg rock is approximately the size of a goose egg. River rock is bigger.
